PG&E has a profound interest in issues that bear on the sustainability of California’s economy and communities. Escalating health care costs represent a growing challenge for businesses and individuals across the nation, and finding solutions is critical to ensuring their long-term health and well-being. We provide healthcare coverage for all employees as well as our retirees. Today, we’re providing additional support and services to our employees to help them manage their care and costs. We’re reaching out to inform and educate our workers about ways they can help us meet these challenges. We’re also working with outside partners, like the Pacific Business Group on Health, to improve the efficiency in the healthcare marketplace with better information technology and other infrastructure. This challenge affects us all, from our workers and retirees to our customers and the quality of life in our communities.   Success is going to require support, leadership and collaboration from all of us.  As a major employer and a leading business, we share in the responsibility to play an active and constructive role in the effort to find solutions, and we’re committed to do just that.
