CAHR Promotes Prevention & Wellness Programs In The Workplace!

Today, CAHR and the National Chamber Foundation co-hosted a forum entitled “Keeping America’s Workforce Healthy: Prevention, Wellness and Behavior.” The symposium spurred an open dialogue with some of the nation’s top business leaders and largest employers on the importance of creating a workplace environment that promotes good health through wellness programs. Participants also highlighted the successes and best practices implemented within their own companies.

CAHR Supports Special Session In Calfornia - Applauds Gov. Schwarzenegger For Promised Veto of AB 8!

Today, CAHR commended Gov. Schwarzenegger’s commitment to veto AB 8, the healthcare reform measure passed by the Legislature. CAHR also applauded the Governor for his pledge to call a special session to reach consensus on a comprehensive healthcare reform plan this year.

CAHR Opposes Current Version Joint Legislative Democrat Reform Plan

Today the California State Senate's Health Committee debated the joint Democrat legislative proposal. CAHR submitted and letter and testified in opposition to the legisaltion in its current form because it it does not rely on shared responsibility for costs or incentives for healthy behavior and fails to accomplish the goal of universal coverage. Today the Coalition to Advance Healthcare Reform joined Governor Schwarzenegger, Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata, Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez and Assembly Republican Leader Mike Villines to discuss reform proposals, share innovative ideas and launch the start of a productive dialogue about improving California’s healthcare system this year.
